T20 World Cup 2024: Tension increased between Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer, what will be their future? IPL 2024 is just three days old, and all the teams have played their first match.
This tournament is crucial for Indian players aiming for a spot in the T20 World Cup 2024 squad. Players with stellar performances will surely grab the attention of the BCCI selectors. But for some players, the pressure is already on!

Who are we talking about? Well, it’s Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer. Both these batsmen had disappointing outings in their very first matches.
Shreyas Iyer got out for a golden duck, while Ishan Kishan managed a forgettable score of 0. If their performance continues down this path throughout the season, making it to the T20 World Cup squad will be an uphill battle.
Things get even more interesting when you consider the recent BCCI developments. Just a few days ago, the board released the new central contract list, and guess who was missing? Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer!
The BCCI had advised both players to focus on domestic cricket. But, they chose to disregard this recommendation. As a consequence, they were dropped from the central contracts.
So, can Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer still make it to the T20 World Cup squad?
