Good News For Bowlers!
They can now bowl two bouncers per over. This rule was tested in domestic tournaments and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, and now it’s coming to the IPL.
Helping Umpires Out, We’ve Got The Smart Review System!
Under this system, the TV umpire and the Hawk-Eye umpire will sit together in the same room to make decisions. This way, they can help each other out, and the TV broadcast director won’t be needed anymore.
One rule that won’t be making it to the IPL, though, is the Stop Clock rule. This rule, recently made permanent in white-ball cricket by the ICC, requires bowlers to start the next over within 60 seconds or face penalties. Not happening in the IPL this time around.
