The player who joined the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in place of Ben Stokes is doubtful to play
It is considered difficult for South Africa middle-order batsman Rassie van der Dussen to participate in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League. In fact, Dussen has not yet received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from his country’s cricket board.
Rassie van der Dussen was included in the Rajasthan Royals team in place of Ben Stokes. Stokes was ruled out of IPL 2021 after a fracture in his finger.
According to the report, 32-year-old Rassie van der Dussen has not received a NOC due to an unknown injury. The report says that Rassie van der Dussen has not received a visa to visit India, which is still struggling with the second wave of Covid-19.
Interestingly, Dussen was now fully fit after being injured before the third ODI against Pakistan last month. He scored 52 off 36 balls in the fourth and final T20 International against Pakistan on 16 April.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals have included South African fast bowler Gerald Coetzee in their team in place of England batsman Liam Livingstone. Livingstone withdrew from the tournament due to problems related to the bio bubble.
Earlier, England fast bowler Jofra Archer, who played for Rajasthan Royals, also decided not to play in IPL 2021 due to an elbow injury. In such a situation, the team’s bench strength looks very weak due to the absence of all these players.
