WIPL Media Rights: Viacom 18 has bought the media rights of the Women’s Indian Premier League for a whopping amount of 951 crores for five years from 2023 to 2027. BCCI secretary Jay Shah has officially confirmed the deal by tweeting.

Jai Shah tweeted, “Congratulations to Viacom18 for winning the media rights of the Women’s IPL. Thank you for your faith in Indian cricket and Indian women’s cricket. Viacom has bagged the deal for Rs 951 crore, which means per match value of Rs 7.09 crore for the next 5 years (2023-27). This is a huge thing for women’s cricket.
He further wrote in his tweet, “After pay equity, today’s bid for media rights of Women’s IPL is another landmark decision. This is a big and decisive step for the empowerment of women’s cricket in India, which will ensure the participation of women of all ages. New dawn indeed!”
