International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the winners of ICC player of the Month for February 2021
The nomination was given for Best Performance by both male and female cricketers of the month of February 2021.
India’s all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin won February’s ICC Men’s Player of the Year for a brilliant performance against England
R. Ashwin took brilliantly 32 wickets (24 wickets in February) in India vs England series and he scored 189 (176 runs in February) in the series and named the Man of the Series.
He scored 106 runs in the second innings of India’s second Test win over England in Chennai and took his 400th Test wicket in the third Test victory at Ahmedabad.
England captain Joe Root and West Indies debutant Kyle Meyers were also nominated for ICC Player of the Month of February, but Ashwin won the award.
England wicketkeeper-batter Tammy Beaumont won the February ICC Women’s Player Award for her great performance against New Zealand
Beaumont played 3 One Day International matches against New Zealand Women in the month of February, where she scored 231 runs with three consecutive fifties (1st ODI- 71 runs, 2nd ODI- 72* runs, 3rd ODI- 88*)
Tammy Beaumont is the number one batter in the women’s ODI international rankings
The ICC player of the month of January 2021 was won by India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and South Africa’s Shabnim Ismail
