Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announces Indian women squad for England tour

The Indian Women’s Cricket Team has been announced for the England tour. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Senior Selection Committee for Women announced the Test, ODI, and T20 squad going on a tour of England.

Mithali will also take charge of the ODI team. At the same time, this responsibility in the T20 team will be on the shoulders of star all-rounder Harmanpreet Kaur. The most important name in this selection is the young opener Shafali Verma, who has also got a place in the ODI and Test team for the first time. Shafali Verma will debut in Test and ODI, Shikha-Taniya returns

The most special thing in this team is that the mistakes made against the team selection against South Africa have been rectified. In the ODI and T20 series held in March, Shikha Pandey and Taniya Bhatia were not selected in any team. At the same time, opener Shafali Verma was not given a place in the ODI. Due to such decisions of the selection committee, there were a lot of controversies and the then coach WV Raman expressed his displeasure. Now even though Raman’s term is over, the selection committee is left to repeat the mistakes.

17-year-old Shafali Verma, the world’s number one T20 batter, has got a place in the ODI team for the first time. The ODI and Test team are the same. In such a situation, it is being hoped that she can be seen opening in Test matches also. On the other hand, Shikha Pandey and Taniya Bhatia have also been selected for all three formats.

Apart from these, 27-year-old spin bowling-allrounder Sneh Rana has returned to the team after 5 years. she last played ODI and T20 matches in February 2016.

At the same time, Jharkhand’s 23-year-old wicketkeeper-batter Indrani Roy has got a place in the Indian team for the first time.
