BCCI Chief Selector 2023: Career of Chetan Sharma

Chetan Sharma was born on 3 January 1966 in Ludhiana, Punjab. He is the nephew of former cricketer Yashpal Sharma. Chetan Sharma made his international debut in 1983. Chetan, who made his debut against West Indies, played his last match against this team in 1994. Chetan Sharma took 61 wickets in 23 Test matches. Chetan Sharma has 67 wickets in 65 ODIs.

Chetan Sharma commentary after the cricket

Chetan Sharma did commentary after the cricket. He also opened the Cricket Coaching Academy in 2004. The Fast Bowling Cricket Academy opened by him was closed in 2009. He also contested the Lok Sabha elections in 2009 on a BSP ticket. In December 2020, Chetan Sharma was elected by the BCCI as the Chief of the Indian Selection Committee. In November 2022, BCCI removed him from this post and asked for new applications. On 7 January 2023, once again Chetan Sharma was officially elected as the new Chief Selector.
