BCCI President Sourav Ganguly will not play the only exhibition match on September 16 which will serve to lift the curtain for the second season of Legends League Cricket (LLC). In a letter to the league, Sourav Ganguly expressed his inability to play, citing “professional commitments and constant work with the cricket administration”.

“It (Legends League Cricket) is a wonderful idea to bring retired cricketers back on the cricket field and connect with fans across generations,” Ganguly said in a statement to the LLC.

“However, due to my professional commitments and constant working with the cricket administration, I will not be able to participate in this game. I am sure the fans are eagerly waiting for this league and the stadium will be very crowded.
