IND vs AUS 3rd ODI 2023: Captain Rohit Sharma’s statement regarding data analytics. Rohit said that with the help of Data Analytics he became a successful opener batsman.

Sharma attributes the success to Data Analytics:-

Team India captain Rohit Sharma has given the credit of his success as an opener in all formats of cricket to data analytics.

The right-handed batsman, along with head coach Rahul Dravid, appeared in a special program called Sports Mechanics on Monday.

And a pioneering sports technology completes its long journey of 20 years with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The right-handed batsman hasn’t looked back:-

Sharing his experience, Rohit Sharma said, “When I was asked to become an opener in 2013.

So I wanted to go through the footage and data to see what the best openers around the world are doing. If it was not for data analytics, I would not have got the success I have today.”

It was MS Dhoni who asked Rohit Sharma to open in 2013 ODI when he was failing in the middle order. Since then the right-handed batsman did not look back and created a new record.

Batting in the middle order, the Indian captain scored just 2 centuries in 74 innings in ODIs. But as an opener, he has scored 28 centuries.

Technology has made the preparation easier for the coach as well:-

Rohit Sharma is the only batsman to have scored three double centuries. Not only the cricketer but technology has made the preparation easier for the coach as well.

In this episode, Rahul Dravid believes that technology helps in better interaction with the players.
