The Young Lions squad confirmed for England men’s U19s Test debut England men’s U19 selectors announced a 13-player squad for the first of their two U19 Tests against Sri Lanka U19 starting on Sunday 21 August The team has been selected.

Durham’s Ben McKinney has been named captain for the four-day match at the Cloud County Ground in Chelmsford.

In consultation with their respective teams, the 14 players in contention for England men’s under-19 selection will continue to participate in domestic cricket to gain valuable first-team experience.

The selectors will name a team for the second LV=Insurance Test prior to that match, which begins on 28 August at the Incora County Ground in Derby, before naming a team for the three-match Royal London U19s series.

Earlier this week, the team beat the Ireland Academy team by three wickets in a three-day match. At Loughborough University as part of their preparations for the Sri Lanka series.
