Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam on Sunday registered a major achievement in his third T20I match of the series against Zimbabwe. Babar has become the fastest batsman to score 2000 runs in T20 International cricket.
During this time, Babar left behind the captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli. Babar achieved this feat in the 52nd innings of the 54th match. Babar has become the 11th batsman overall to score two thousand or more runs in the shorter format of cricket.
In this match, 26-year-old Babar scored 52 runs from 46 balls. He hit 5 fours during this period. Before the third T20I, Babar needed 17 runs to touch the 2000-run mark. He came to the crease after the end of the fifth over when Sharjeel Khan was dismissed by 18 runs. Babar touched the figure of two thousand in the 13th over.
Virat had scored 2000 runs in the 56th innings.
