India Squad SA Series: Team India will be selected for the 5-match T20 series against South Africa on the evening of the IPL 2022 Finals in Ahmedabad.

Wants to rest Virat Kohli:-

The selectors want to rest former Indian captain Virat Kohli for the South Africa as well as the Ireland series.

According to sources, the Indian selectors are keen to try some of the rising stars of the IPL in both South Africa and Ireland T20 series.

On the other hand, some other senior players including Virat Kohli will be rested.

Umran Malik and Prithvi Shaw will be on the radar of the selectors and these players are likely to be included in the squad for both the series.

Abhishek Sharma is another name that will be watched closely in the next few matches.

Only after that, it will be decided whether they will play further matches or not. Hardik Pandya will also make a comeback in the Indian line-up.

VC KL Rahul and the team’s leading batsman Virat Kohli:-

Team India’s selection for 15 T20 Internationals will be a big responsibility for captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid.

In the IPL, three experienced players of India did not perform much in the powerplay i.e. the first six overs.

KL Rahul: In 10 matches so far, Rahul has played 55 dots in the powerplay overs and scored a total of 141 runs off 126 balls. His strike rate is just 111.90. He has hit 15 fours and four sixes in those games in the powerplay overs.

Rohit Sharma: During this period, Rohit Sharma has played 56 dots in the powerplay overs in 9 matches, scoring 136 runs in 104 balls at a strike rate of 130.76.

MSK Prasad told PTI, “If fit, these three players are amazing. There is no such thing that you can leave any of them for the World T20.
