Australia Captain Meg Lanning Has Been Ruled Out Of The Ashes Due To Medical Reasons
Healy to lead Australia: Australia captain Meg Lanning has been ruled out of the Ashes due to medical reasons. Alyssa Healy will lead the team in the multi-format series starting June 22.
Lanning returns to play in January after taking a break:-
After taking an extended break from the game to manage his mental health, Lanning returned to play in January and led Australia to the T20 World Cup title in South Africa during March before joining the inaugural WPL.

This will be Lanning’s second Ashes series after sitting out the 2017-18 series in Australia due to a shoulder injury.
Promotion of sustainability declaration for next summer:-
Lanning was part of the fixture announcement promotion for next summer a little over a fortnight ago.
Healy stepping into the captaincy during Lanning’s absence from the team last year and will then be supporting Tahlia McGrath as vice-captain.
Australia will not replace Lanning in the Ashes team:-
Aus would not replace Lanning in the Ashes squad, with Australia A touring together for the first half of the tour, meaning they could draft players as needed.
Lanning’s departure will leaving a huge hole to be filling in the top order across all formats. There could be a significant change for the Test match with Healy.
