Indian skipper Virat Kohli becomes the fastest batsman to reach 22,000 international runs.

Virat Kohli reached this landmark during his 889-run inning while chasing against Australia in Sydney.

The 32-year-old Virat, who was also celebrating his 250th ODI cap for the national team. He has left behind greats of the game as he completed his 22,000th run in his 462nd international inning.

Virat surpassed Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, and Ricky Ponting who took 493, 511, and 514 innings respectively to record the same feat.

Kohli is facing the heat as India lost the second ODI against Australia and the series as well. The skipper was found searching for a sixth bowler when the Aussie batsmen in particular, Steve Smith was carving the Indian bowlers to every corner of the SCG.
