Cristiano Ronaldo scored two penalties to take his Champions League goal tally to 134 as Juventus beat Barcelona to seal top spot in Group G.

They started the day with a three-point cushion over Juve but finish second and will be unseeded in next Monday’s last-16 draw.

It was Andrea Pirlo’s Juventus who came out on top against an out of form Barcelona. Juventus’ star man Cristiano Ronaldo led Juventus to a 0-3 victory over Lionel Messi’s Barcelona to finish at the top of Group G.

Andrea Pirlo reverted back to a 3-man defense as Ronald Koeman made four changes from Barcelona’s loss against Cadiz.

It did not take CR7 long to net the first goal of the match. The Portuguese forward headed towards the byline and is pushed down by Araujo in the penalty box.

The referee pointed to the spot. Ter Stegen dove the wrong way and Cristiano Ronaldo placed the penalty in the middle of the goal calmly.

The second goal for the visitors came just 7 minutes later in the 20th minute. Columbian Juan Cuadrado floated a beautiful cross with Ronaldo and McKennie near the penalty spot.

McKennie doubled Juventus’ lead by timing his volley to perfection and smashing the ball inside the goal, leaving the German Ter Stegen helpless.

Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up and stent Ter Stegen the wrong way again. This time he placed the ball into the bottom left corner to give Juventus a 3-goal cushion in the 52nd minute.

Barcelona tried their best to decode Juventus’ defense but the closest they could come was by a Greizmann header which struck the bar.

There was some late drama involved as Bonucci pushed the ball but the VAR overturned the decision by giving it an offside.

Juventus finish at the top of Group G. Both the teams have the same record (P6 W5 D0 L1).
