From Stuart Broad to Robin Peterson, these are the most expensive overs in Test cricket

England fast bowler Stuart Broad conceded 35 runs in an over in the match against India. He did the costliest over in the history of Test cricket at Edgbaston. Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah scored 29 runs with the bat in his over and Broad also gave away six extra runs. Earlier, no bowler had given more than 30 runs in any over of a Test match. Stuart Broad now holds the record for the most expensive Test over in T20Is. Broad conceded 36 runs in an over of a T20 match when Yuvraj Singh hit six sixes in his one over in Most Expensive Overs in Test Cricket.

Prior to Stuart Broad, the record for the most expensive over in Test cricket was held by Robin Peterson of South Africa, who conceded 28 runs in an over. Apart from Pietersen, England’s James Anderson and Joe Root have also given 28 runs in an over .

England’s fast bowlers are ahead in scoring runs

England bowlers are at the forefront of giving the most runs in an over in Test cricket. Stuart Broad of England has spent 35 runs in an over, while three bowlers have given 28 runs in an over. This includes the names of Robin Peterson of South Africa, James Anderson of England, and Joe Root of England. Harbhajan Singh of India is at number five in this matter. He gave 27 runs against Pakistan. Shahid Afridi scored 27 runs in an over of Harbhajan Singh in 2006. He hit sixes in the first four balls of this over. Two runs were given off the fifth ball and one run was spent on the last ball.

Robin Pietersen of South Africa and Younis Khan of Pakistan have been the only bowlers to have hit a boundary on every ball of an over in a Test match. Apart from these two, no bowler has hit the boundary on all the balls. At the same time, Harbhajan Singh had eaten the most four sixes so Most Expensive Overs in Test Cricket.
