IND vs WI: Akshar Patel breaks Shoaib Malik’s 17-year-old world record

Chasing the target of 312 runs, Team India won by two wickets against West Indies. During this match, Axar Patel made a unique world record in his name. Axar Patel scored 64 not out off 35 balls against the West Indies and gave Team India a thrilling two-wicket win in the last over with a six in Akshar Patel.

In this match, Axar Patel played a match-winning inning and he was also adjudged man of the match. The Indian team’s middle order performed in a way that hardly anyone would have expected. During this, Akshar Patel destroyed the world record of 17-year-old Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik in now Akshar Patel.

The best individual score by a team

While chasing the score of 300+ runs in One Day Internationals, the highest individual score of any player to date has been registered in the name of Axar Patel. Earlier this record was in the name of Pakistani player Shoaib Malik. Shoaib Malik scored 65 runs in the One Day International match played against India in Ahmedabad in 2005. Pakistan then won the match against India by scoring 319 for seven.

West Indies scored 311 for six in 50 overs on the back of Shai Hope’s century and captain Nicholas Pooran’s innings of 77 runs. Akshar Patel took one wicket for 40 runs in 9 overs. At the same time, after spending 54 runs in 7 overs, Shardul Thakur took three wickets. India won the target on the basis of the innings of Shreyas Iyer (63), Sanju Samson (54), and Axar Patel.
