Former explosive opener of the Indian team Virender Sehwag has lashed out at young batsman Prithvi Shaw. Sehwag has reprimanded Prithvi Shaw citing the example of Shubman Gill.

IPL 2023: Know what Sehwag said –

Delhi Capitals played their second match against Gujarat Titans on Tuesday. Opener Prithvi Shaw was the victim of Shami by scoring only 7 runs. Prithvi Shaw was described by former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri as a mix of Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara.

Hindustan Times quoted Virender Sehwag as saying – “Prithvi Shaw has lost his wicket many times by playing similar shots. But he also needs to learn from his mistake. Isn’t it? You look at Shubman Gill. Played Under-19 cricket together and is now playing Test, ODI and T20 International matches. But Shaw continues to struggle in the IPL.”

IPL 2023: Sehwag further said –

“Prithvi Shaw should use the IPL platform to score as many runs as possible. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored more than 600 runs in a season. Shubman Gill also scored a lot of runs. So in such a situation, Prithvi Shaw will also have to keep up the good work with his IPL scores.”
