New Zealand team reached England to play World Test Championship (WTC) final against India and test series against England

Most of the players from New Zealand have reached England to play the two-match Test series against England and the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) against India.

The players arrived here from Auckland via Singapore on Sunday evening and then moved to Southampton’s Ageas Bowl. They will remain in Southampton for the first two weeks of this tour.

The first match of the series against England will begin in London on 2 June while the second match will be played in Birmingham from 10 June. The final of the World Test Championship between India and New Zealand will begin on June 18 in Southampton.

The players will be segregated in the hotel for the first three days, after which they can practice in a group of six players between the fourth and sixth days, but for this their Covid test should come negative.

The team will play a four-day practice match between themselves from 25 May to 28 May in which six local bowlers will help them. These six bowlers will already be on the sidelines. Tim Southee, BJ Watling, Ross Taylor, and Neil Wagner will leave Auckland on Monday to join the team at Southampton.

Captain Kane Williamson, Kyle Jamieson, Mitchell Santner, team physio Tommy Simsek and trainer Chris Donaldson will arrive on Monday after the Indian Premier League (IPL) was suspended.
