NZ vs SL: New Zealand‘s Kim Cotton created history on Wednesday by officiating in the second T20 International between New Zealand and Sri Lanka. Cotton has become the first woman to officiate on-field umpiring in a T20 International match between two male full-time ICC nations.

NZ vs SL: Kim Cotton achieved this feat –

Kim Cotton, 48, had earlier played the role of umpiring in 54 Women’s T20 International matches. During this, she was also a TV umpire. Apart from this, since 2018, Cotton has officiated in 24 women’s ODIs.

Let us tell you that for the first time in 2020, in the match played between India and New Zealand in Hamilton, Cotton made his appearance in the men’s match. Then she was a TV umpire.

It is noteworthy that Cotton has umpired in one ODI World Cup and three T20 World Cups since 2018. This includes the finals of 2020, 2022 and 2023.
