Pakistan Put a Hurdle in IPL 2023! PCB Suddenly Changed the Schedule of the Entire Series

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is often in the news due to its antics. Recently, Najam Sethi, who took over as PCB chairman after PSL’s eighth season ended, issued an absurd statement of beating IPL in digital viewership. Now PCB has suddenly done something which may hinder IPL somewhere. In fact, the New Zealand team has to play five T20 and five ODI series against Pakistan in April. Meanwhile, the IPL will also be going on, which will start from March 31.

Many Star Players From New Zealand Who are Also a Key Part of the Teams in IPL

In such a situation, many star players of New Zealand, who are also a major part of the teams in IPL, will have to play for their country and they can join the IPL teams late. However, there is no update on this from New Zealand Cricket yet. But the schedule of the series is very awkward. Now the schedule of both ODI and T20 series has also been changed. The schedule of the T20 series has moved forward one day. The first series was to be held from 13 to 23 April. But now the series has been rescheduled from 14 to 24 April.

According to the new schedule, now the first match of the T20 series will be held on April 14 instead of 13. While the final match will be played on 24th April instead of 23rd. The second, third and fourth matches will be held on April 15, 17 and 20 respectively. Apart from this, changes have also been made in the schedule of the ODI series. Accordingly, this series will start and end from its old dates only. The first ODI will be held on 26 April and the fifth ODI will be played on 7 May. While the dates of the second, third and fourth ODIs have been rescheduled for April 30, May 3 and May 5 respectively.

Will there be a Dilemma for New Zealand Players?

Let us tell you that from April 14 to May 7, New Zealand has to play the white ball series in Pakistan. And some New Zealand star players like Kane Williamson (Gujarat Titans), Tim Southee (KKR), Michael Bracewell (RCB), Mitchell Santner (CSK), Devon Conway (CSK), Finn Allen (RCB) and Lockie Ferguson (Gujarat Titans). You may be forced to play for your country. In such a situation, IPL franchises may suffer losses in the middle of the season. However, the New Zealand squad for this series has not been selected yet. Earlier, after the Sri Lanka ODI series, there was talk of early release of Southee and Williamson by the board. But there is no clarity on the upcoming series against Pakistan. Now it has to be seen whether New Zealand selects its junior squad for this series or some senior players will have to leave the IPL.
