Paul Farbrace is to leave Warwickshire at the end of the 2022 season

Paul Farbrace will step down from his role as Warwickshire’s chief of sport at the end of the current season.

Paul Farbrace joined Warwickshire in 2019 after five years as England’s men’s assistant coach and oversaw the success of the club’s County Championship title in 2021. But with his family based in Kent, he has decided to look for opportunities that will take him closer to home.

Warwickshire chief executive Stuart Cain said: “We knew Paul Farbrace was one of the best cricket minds in world cricket when we recruited him and has demonstrated our elite squad has developed his work has been influential even by developing youth.”

“They have built a very strong foundation for the future. Much of it is down to the excellent relationships they have built with recreational clubs and schools in the area, and that is something we will build on in the future.

“Paul will be with us through the completion of the season as we focus on upcoming County Championship fixtures and help us through the early stages of recruiting his replacement.

Farbrace said: “It’s been a great four years and I’ll be around longer, but with my family in Kent, it’s time for me to focus on them and look at other opportunities.
