BCCI made a mistake – Fast Bowler Chetan Sakariya’s Bowling Action is Under Investigation

The bowling action of Saurashtra’s left-arm fast bowler Chetan Sakariya has come under scrutiny. When BCCI included him in the list of suspect bowling action. But this was a big mistake of BCCI. BCCI had to include a player with a similar name from the South Zone, Chetan, in the doubtful list, but instead, they included Sakariya in the list.

Despite a brilliant career, under scrutiny for Investigation into bowling action

This revelation, which came a few days before the IPL 2024 auction, has shocked fans and franchises. Known for his stellar performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Sakariya has played 19 matches in the tournament and made brief appearances in one ODI and two T20Is for India. Despite his stellar career, the 25-year-old is now under scrutiny due to his bowling action.

Big mistake of BCCI

As reported by Cricbuzz, the Saurashtra team management, the state cricket association, and people close to the 25-year-old left-arm fast bowler all expressed surprise when questioned. After this, Saurashtra Cricket Association officials reached out to BCCI. Later it was revealed that Chetan, a player with a similar name from the South Zone, should have been on that suspect list.

“It was kind of a misunderstanding, and Chetan was never called and he is not on that list,” SCA president Jaydev Shah told Cricbuzz on Saturday (December 16). I think the name of a Karnataka bowler should have been there and the IPL is addressing the issue.”

Chetan is not on the final auction list

Chetan, who was recently released by Delhi Capitals, is ranked 27th in the auction roster with a base price of Rs 50 lakh. This Karnataka bowler is not on the final auction list.
