AUS vs BAN: Virender Sehwag’s 12 year old record blown away by Mitchell Marsh’s storm

AUS vs BAN: After Glenn Maxwell’s memorable show at Wankhede, Mitchell Marsh entertained the fans with his explosive batting in Pune. In the match played against Bangladesh in the World Cup 2023, Marsh created such havoc with the bat that everyone became a fan of his batting.

Mitchell Marsh wreaked havoc :-

Mitchell Marsh, who came to the crease after Travis Head returned to the pavilion early, wreaked havoc with the bat. Marsh thrashed every Bangladesh bowler and hit shots freely in all four corners of the field. Facing 132 balls, Marsh played an unbeaten inning of 177 runs. During this innings, 17 fours and 9 skyscraper sixes came from the bat of Kangaroo batsman.

Marsh broke Sehwag’s record :-

Mitchell Marsh has also made the record of playing the biggest innings in the ODI World Cup against Bangladesh. Marsh has left Virender Sehwag behind in this matter. Veeru played a memorable inning of 175 runs against Bangladesh in the World Cup played in 2011. Whereas, David Warner had scored 166 runs in 2019.

Record partnership with Smith :-

Marsh along with David Warner made a quick partnership of 120 runs for the second wicket. After Warner returned to the pavilion, Marsh found a good partner in Steve Smith and both of them made an unbroken partnership of 175 runs, giving Australia its seventh consecutive victory. This partnership of Marsh-Smith is the second highest partnership made by Australia against Bangladesh in ODI cricket.
