Australia broke records: Australia’s star batsman David Warner and all-rounder Glenn Maxwell have scored brilliant centuries in match number 24 of the World Cup 2023. Australia batted first in its very important World Cup match and scored a mammoth score of 399 runs losing 8 wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Thanks to the batsmen’s contribution in small runs, the Australian team made the second highest score of its World Cup. Australia had set the biggest total of 417 runs against Afghanistan in the 2015 World Cup in Perth.

David Warner now just behind Rohit Sharma :-

Apart from this, with the help of this century, Warner completed his sixth century in the ICC event and with this he has become the batsman with the second highest number of centuries in the ICC event. The number one hit man is Rohit Sharma who has 7 centuries in his name in ICC events. Warner has scored 6 centuries in 23 innings in the World Cup, while Rohit has seven centuries in 22 innings.

Glenn Maxwell has also made a huge record in his name against Netherlands. The Australian batsman scored the fastest century in the history of the World Cup. Maxwell completed his record-breaking century in just 40 balls.

Two centuries in Australian innings:-

You should also know that this is the second time in the history of World Cup cricket that two centuries were scored in an Australian innings. Australia had achieved a special feat for the first time against Pakistan in its last World Cup match this year.

Apart from this, Cummins and Maxwell also made the record of the biggest partnership for the seventh wicket for Australia by making a partnership of 103 runs against Netherlands in the World Cup.

You should also know that power-hitter Maxwell has become the third batsman to hit the most number of sixes for Australia in the 50 over format. Maxwell has hit 138 sixes while Ricky Ponting tops the list with 159 sixes in ODIs.
Apart from this, Netherlands bowler Bas de Leede gave away 115 runs in his 10 overs. This is the record for the most runs conceded by any bowler in an innings in ODI.
