Former Pakistani cricketer Moin Khan has strongly criticized Pakistani captain Babar Azam after the World Cup defeat against India on Saturday.
At one time, with the help of Babar Azam’s 50 runs, the Pakistani team had scored 155/2 but then collapsed for 191 runs and India won the match by 7 wickets with 19.3 overs remaining.
Moeen said that Babar looked “scared” and the same was visible from the body language of other Pakistani players.

Babar Azam seems like a scared captain: Moeen Khan
Moeen told A Sports, “As far as Babar’s batting and intent in captaincy is concerned, it was not his natural game. He took 58 balls. When he came to the crease with the first wicket falling at 41 runs, he was in a settled pitch and position. They should have attacked while maintaining some flow. This should be an intention that reflects the team as a whole. When your captain looks scared or reacts the way he does, the team will also react the same.”
He looked under pressure and clearly
He said, “He looked under pressure and clearly because of that he could not play his shots properly. You must be already scared that if I play a shot, I might get out. I did not see any intention in any batsman.”
He has no plan B and C against top-ranked teams
Veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik also raised questions on Babar’s captaincy and said that he has no plan B and C against top-ranked teams.

During the same discussion, Malik said, Babar is running this show, and it is his responsibility to sit with the players. There should be plans B and C. When you play against big teams they attack your Plan A and you have no answer.”
With the victory over Pakistan, India reached the top of the ICC World Cup 2023 points table.
