World Cup 2023: Shubman Gill ‘s quick recovery has made him a contender for a comeback in India’s playing eleven in match no.12 of the World Cup 2023 against Pakistan in Ahmedabad.
By October 10, there was little chance of Gill being available for the match against Pakistan. But by 11 October night, things turned positive as Gill reached Ahmedabad straight from Chennai and on the morning of 12 October, he left for the practice session.
Gill looked happy in the footage broadcast by Star Sports :-
In the footage broadcast by Star Sports, Shubman Gill looked very happy before going to the nets at around 11.30 am. Team India’s physio Kamlesh and throwdown specialist Nuwan Seneviratne were also with him.
Gill batted for about an hour at the Motera nets. He faced throwdowns and some net bowlers and did not face any physical problems. Towards the end of the season, the 24-year-old also took a few catches to hone his fielding skills.
Shubman can make his debut in the World Cup against Pakistan :-
With still more than 24 hours to go for the Pakistan match, Gill will conduct the second round of a full practice session with the rest of the Indian cricketers on October 13 evening. If he performs well then there is no reason to believe that he should not make his debut in the World Cup against Pakistan.
Former India selection committee chairman MSK Prasad told hindustantimes.com, Shubman Gill will definitely play the game against Pakistan. He is such a good player that he cannot be dropped. He only had fever but now he has recovered. It was not a threat and we will also think about replacement. “These are all the rumors that are coming out about the severity of the disease, no matter what form you’re hearing from.”
Gill’s records in Narendra Modi Stadium are very shocking:-
Apart from this, if we talk about Shubman Gill ‘s record at Narendra Modi Stadium, it is very surprising. Gill has not played a single ODI at the venue yet, but in the four matches he has played here – three Tests and one T20I, he averages 93 and has two centuries to his name.
