Warner was trapped LBW by Sri Lankan fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka

In the match, which Australia won by five wickets in Lucknow on Monday. Warner was trapped LBW by Sri Lankan fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka. The left-handed batsman went for review but the DRS call went in favor of the on-field umpire, who had originally given him out. The southpaw batsman, who was batting on 11 runs, got angry and left the field. He was seen hitting his bat on his pad and started shouting while walking back towards the wicket.

Warner said he wants more transparency on how DRS decisions are made

“I’ve never had Hawk-Eye come and explain to us how the technology actually works, it’s just for TV,” cricket.com.au quoted the 36-year-old as saying. Win by wicket over Sri Lanka on Monday.

“If they can come and explain to us how it works. Sometimes we can (choose) not to reference it or not to reference it.”

According to the report, after asking for a review, Warner suggested that the ball-tracking on the field did not match what he saw on the replay screen.

“When I was there I asked Joel (field umpire) what happened, why did he give it out. He said the ball was swinging back, that’s to his credit, if he thinks so then that’s why he gave the decision.

The decision review system was introduced in 2008, before Warner’s international debut in 2009.

We’re waiting for ball-tracking

“Right now, it feels like we’re waiting for (ball-tracking) to happen,” Warner said.

“And as a player, you get more frustrated because you think: ‘Have they lined it up? What are the impact points, how many impact points do they have before it goes through.’

“In England, the ball bounces and once it bounces it actually spins, not just off the seam but in the air it can spin, so there are little things like that that as a player you get frustrated. Because there’s no explanation for it… but there has to be some accountability.”

ICC has not announced any punishment for Warner’s anger.

“I sprayed myself heavily out of frustration,” Warner said.
