ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Gautam Gambhir Furious At Shakib Al Hasan’s Appeal, “Very Shameful”. Monday was a historic day for the cricket world, something happened in the Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh match which was never seen before in history.
One Side is With Shakib And Most Are Against Him:-
Angelo Mathews became the first player to be out due to time out in international cricket. Social media also seemed divided into two groups regarding Shakib’s decision to appeal, one side is with Shakib and most are against him.

Although Shakib said after the match that it does not matter, it is an issue for debate as per the rules, we appealed for this.
Gautam Gambhir Also Expressed His Opinion On This Issue:-
Former Indian cricketer, who has clearly expressed his opinion on everything, Gautam Gambhir, who is currently seen in commentary, also expressed his opinion on this issue.
Gambhir tweeted, “What happened in Delhi today is really shameful.” Gambhir wrote the name of Angelo Mathews in the hashtag.
During this, Shakib Al Hasan saw that Angelo Mathews had violated the ICC rules. According to the rules, after being out, the new batsman should come to the crease within 2 minutes and be ready to bat, otherwise, he can be given out.
Angelo Had Come To The Crease Ahead Of Time:-
When Shakib appealed, it was found that Angelo had come to the crease ahead of time but was not ready to play the ball.
When the umpire confirmed with Shakib Al Hasan whether he wanted it out, Shakib said that he was serious about it. The umpire called it out, and Angelo Mathews had to go out.
Bangladesh cricket team achieved the target of 280 runs given by Sri Lanka with 53 balls left. Nazmul Hossain Shanto played a brilliant inning of 90 and Shakib Al Hasan played a brilliant inning of 82 runs, together they made an important partnership of 169 runs for the third wicket.

Shakib also took 2 wickets and was also choosing Player of the Match. This was a historic victory for Bangladesh. This was the first victory of the Bangladesh team over Sri Lanka in the World Cup.
