ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Hardik Pandya was also out of the matches against England and Sri Lanka in the World Cup. India’s next match in the World Cup will be played with England on 29 October.
The BCCI Had Said in Its Statement:-
All-rounder Hardik Pandya could not play the important match against New Zealand due to injury, BCCI had said in its statement that he will reach Lucknow directly for the match against England.

The news that has come now is worrying for Team India. Hardik Pandya will not be fit not only against England but also in the match after that.
Hardik Pandya was injured while trying to stop the ball in his own over against Bangladesh, after which he was scanned and then he went to NCA instead of going to Dharamshala with the team.
According to the report of Indian Express, Hardik Pandya will not be able to play in the matches against England and Sri Lanka. He will be able to play only the last 2 matches of the league stage in the World Cup.
The Team Will Wait For A Few More Days For His Recovery:-
According to the report of Indian Express, Hardik Pandya has not started bowling yet after an ankle injury. The medical team will wait for a few more days for his recovery.
He can join the team before the match against Sri Lanka in Mumbai or the match against South Africa in Kolkata.
The Indian team management does not want to rush his comeback and wants him to be fully fit for the last 2 matches of their league stage. The team wants Hardik Pandya to remain completely fit for the semi-final match.
Hardik Pandya’s Performance in World Cup 2023:-
India has so far played 5 matches in the World Cup. Hardik Pandya played in all the matches except the match against New Zealand but he got a chance to bat in only one match. He scored 11 not out against Australia.
Talking about bowling, he took 1 wicket against Australia. He took 2-2 wickets against Afghanistan and Pakistan. He was able to bowl only 3 balls against Bangladesh and was out due to injury.
