Hardik Pandya’s injury: The Indian team will have to wait at least one more day for the status of Hardik Pandya’s injury to become clear. The all-rounder twisted his left ankle and could bowl only three balls in Bangladesh’s innings in Pune on Thursday (October 19).

Pandya suffered an injury to his left ankle
The injury occurred during the ninth over of the match and Hardik’s first over, when he tried to stop the ball with his foot on a follow-through. He walked off the field staggering with the support staff and the over was eventually completed by Virat Kohli.
Hardik had gone for a scan
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had announced that Pandya had gone for a scan, and the results were still pending. According to Cricbuzz, the scan report is being sent to a specialist in Mumbai, and further action will be decided based on the report from the Mumbai doctor.

After undergoing the scan, Pandya returned to the field. But he did not need to return to the field, as India easily chased down the target of 257 runs set by Bangladesh and won the match by seven wickets.
Rohit Sharma played down the severity of the injury, saying, “He has a slight niggle, nothing to worry about. We will see tomorrow morning how he feels and then plan how to proceed further.”

Despite the captain’s assurances, informed sources do not rule out resting him for the next match against New Zealand in Dharamsala on October 22.
