However, Brook did not perform well in the ODI series against New Zealand. He could score only 10, 2, and 25, but he remained in the news after his explosive batting in T-20.
Brook is growing rapidly as an international cricketer. Because of this, the England team was forced to make his place.
The Changes Can Be Made Till September 28:-
England had made some strong choices in their provisional team announced last month. All-rounder Ben Stokes had returned while young batsman Harry Brook and star fast bowler Joffra Archer could not find a place.
Meanwhile, Jason Roy remained out of the New Zealand series due to injury. He could be included in the squad to face Ireland this weekend.
Changes in the team for the World Cup can be made till September 28. However, England has announced the final team.
Adil Rashid Made A Place:-
Let us tell you that Stokes made a great comeback after retiring from the ODI by playing a brilliant inning of 182 runs in 124 balls against New Zealand.
This is the highest score by an England player in ODIs. Adil Rashid, who played only one match in the New Zealand series, has also got a place in the team.
Rashid felt the injury during the match. Due to this, he could not play the remaining matches of the series. Whereas fast bowler Mark Wood is recovering from a heel injury. He has not yet played any competitive cricket since the last Ashes Test.
England team’s national selector Luke Wright said- We have selected a strong team. We believe that she can go to India and win the World Cup.
With Jason Roy out and Harry Brook coming into the team, we have had to take decisions on world-class players.
