ICC ODI WC 2023: Pakistan’s team announced for the World Cup, entry of Hasan Ali in place of Naseem Shah. Pakistan has announced its team for the ODI World Cup 2023 to be played in India.

Naseem Was Badly Injured During The Asia Cup:-

Fast bowler Naseem Shah has not been included in the team announced by the PCB. He was badly injured during the Asia Cup. Hasan Ali has been given a place in place of Naseem.

Pakistan has also included an additional legspinner in Usama Mir, who made his ODI debut against New Zealand earlier this year but was not part of the Asia Cup squad.

Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Wasim Jr. comprise the rest of Pakistan’s pace attack, while Mohammad Haris is in the reserves. Spin-bowling all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz also retains his place in the team, while Faheem Ashraf has not got a chance.

Due To This, There Was A Delay in The Announcement Of The Team:-

Hasan last played an ODI in June 2022 and last played for Pakistan in the second Test against New Zealand in Karachi in January this year.

The announcement of Pakistan’s World Cup squad was delayed by several days as the PCB took stock of a disappointing Asia Cup campaign, where they finished bottom of the Super Four group after losses to India and Sri Lanka.

The board also awaited a second opinion on Naseem’s injury prognosis, although no positive news has emerged on that front.
