India’s young star Shubman Gill made a world record during the match against New Zealand in the World Cup. Gill achieved a big feat during the match. Gill left behind many players including former South African batsman Hashim Amla and Pakistan captain Babar Azam.
Gill, who did not play in the first two matches of the World Cup due to dengue, made a comeback in the match against Pakistan. He needed 14 runs to complete two thousand runs.
Gill completed his two thousand runs by hitting Trent Boult for a four on the third ball of the seventh over. Gill crossed the two thousand run mark in his 38th ODI innings. Hashim Amla did this in 40 innings.
