India and Pakistan: Days ahead of the high-voltage clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan in the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has faced anger and massive criticism from netizens over dirty seats at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

The mega event is taking place in India and warm-up matches will be held before the main round starting on October 5 in Ahmedabad.

England and New Zealand, finalists of the 2019 edition, will play in the opening match of the tournament, after which Pakistan will face the Netherlands the next day.

Currently, the Men in Green are playing against Australia in the warm-up game. Fans have been allowed to watch the game but the arrangements for spectators are not good.

C. Venkatesh shared a picture of dirty seats.

India’s senior sports journalist Vikrant Gupta also reacted to the pictures going viral and said, “Shocking. That much can be said at least.”

Netizens have lashed out at the BCCI and tournament hosts India for not meeting the standards as fans will turn up in large numbers for the tournament. He said that it is a matter of shame for BCCI not to vacate the seats.

Fans have further asked whether BCCI President Roger Binny and Honorary Secretary Jay Shah will sit on such seats.
