Labuschagne was included in the 15-man squad, and Travis Head succeeded in retaining his place

With only a few days left for the ODI World Cup to begin in India. Australia has included Marnus Labuschagne in its 15-man squad for the World Cup in place of injured Ashton Agar. This is the only change to the original squad announced by Cricket Australia. According to ICC guidelines, all 10 teams could make changes to their World Cup squad till September 28. Under this, Australia has included Marnus Labuschagne, who is in excellent form, in its team. Let us tell you that Marnus Labuschagne was not included in the first ODI World Cup (World Cup 2023). But now he will join Australia for the mega event. According to the report of the Australian newspaper ‘The Daily Telegraph’, Labuschagne is going to replace Ashton Agar in the Marnus team.

If you can’t recover from that injury

According to the report, Agar has not been able to recover from the injury due to which he was ruled out of the recent T20 series against South Africa. Because of this, he could not play in the ODI series against India this week. According to media reports, Ashton Agar had suffered a calf injury. After which it was expected that he would be completely fit before the World Cup 2023. However, now it is coming to light that he is out of this entire mega-tournament.

Labuschagne, who was brought back for the ODIs in South Africa, scored 283 runs at an average of 70.75 in five matches and added 138 runs at an average of 46 in three matches in India.

He said, “Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell are making good progress through the rehabilitation of their respective injuries and it was pleasing to see them return to the playing eleven last night.”
