On Tuesday, Alipore Court granted bail to cricketer Mohammed Shami on a bail bond of Rs 2,000. Shami physically appeared in the Alipore ACJM court of Kolkata on Tuesday and obtained bail. A case was registered against Mohammed Shami and some of his family members on the basis of an FIR lodged by Haseen Jahan at Jadavpur police station in 2018. After which legal proceedings were initiated against Shami.

Earlier, the lawyer had asked Shami to appear in court and seek bail. In 2018, he was accused of domestic violence by his ex-wife Hasin Jahan and she filed a case in the lower court.

Therefore, at present there is no need for him to appear in court. However, within the next 30 days, the Indian cricketer will have to apply to the trial court for further proceedings in the case.
