PAK vs AFG, Wasim Akram: Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram lashed out at the Babar Azam-led team after suffering defeat at the hands of Afghanistan.

Wasim Akram said that a lot of work is needed on the fitness level of Pakistani players. Pakistan had to face its third consecutive defeat in the current tournament, after which its path to reach the semi-finals has become very difficult. This was Pakistan’s first defeat against Afghanistan in ODI history.

What did Wasim Akram say :-

it’s embarrassing. The score of 280-290 was big and only two wickets. The pitch was not wet. Fielding was bad. Look at your fitness level. We have talked about the fact that there has been no fitness test in the last two years. If I take someone’s personal name here, they will not like it. It seems that he eats 8 kg of mutton every day.

Akram made serious allegations :-

Wasim Akram also said that Pakistani players did not like fitness tests. These tests were being handled by former head coach Misbah-ul-Haq, but those tests help the team get its basics right.

There should be tests. Professionally you are playing for the country and you are being paid for it. I am with Misbah. This was his style when he was a coach. The players hated him. But it worked for the team.
