PAK vs AFG: After Afghanistan’s historic World Cup win against Pakistan in Chennai on Monday, Ibrahim Zadran made a big statement. After being awarded Player of the Match for his brilliant innings. He dedicated his trophy to the Afghan people who were forced to return from Pakistan due to government actions.

Ibrahim Zadran said after the match, I want to dedicate this Man of the Match award to those who are sent back to Afghanistan from Pakistan. Thank you I did well in this event. I wanted to play with positive intentions. Many times Gurbaz and I have formed a great partnership. We have played a lot of cricket together since our Under-16 days. I feel very happy for myself and my country.”

Zadran led the scoring with 87 runs

With the help of important innings from Zadran, Rahmat Shah, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Afghanistan successfully chased the target of 282 runs against Pakistan. Zadran led the scoring with 87 runs, Shah remained unbeaten with 77 runs and Gurbaz played a brilliant inning of 65 runs from 53 balls. Captain Hasmatullah Shahidi also played an important role and scored an unbeaten 48 runs in 45 balls.

Afghanistan had earlier lost seven ODI matches to Pakistan

Afghanistan had previously lost seven ODIs to Pakistan. But in their latest encounter, they finally found the finishing touch they needed. All four of their batsmen performed well and contributed to the most successful run-chase ever in the history of the 50-over format. The win is Afghanistan’s second win in the tournament, having earlier won against defending champions England in New Delhi.
