PAK vs SA: South Africa successfully chased the target for the first time in their World Cup 2023 campaign and won by 1 wicket in a thrilling match against Pakistan in Chennai. As soon as Keshav Maharaj scored the winning run, his teammates watching from the dressing room jumped with joy.

South Africa once again on top in the points table :-

With this victory, South Africa has left India behind in the points table and reached the top. Both the teams have equal 10 points but South Africa is ahead of India in terms of run rate.

Earlier, when South Africa came on the field to chase against Netherlands in this World Cup, they had to face a very embarrassing defeat. In this match, Proteas was all out for 207 runs while chasing 245 runs and had to face a crushing defeat by 38 runs.

Babar Azam’s third half century of World Cup 2023 :-

Talking about the match between Pakistan and South Africa, only captain Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel could score half centuries in batting for Pakistan. With this half century, Babar Azam recorded his third half century of this World Cup. Mohammad Rizwan played good innings for Pakistan with 31 runs and Shadab Khan with 43 runs.

PAK vs SA: Aiden Markram left Virat Kohli behind :-

The biggest contribution in the run chase for South Africa was from Aiden Markram, who played a brilliant inning of 91 runs in 93 balls. During this innings, Markram overtook Virat Kohli to become the second highest run scorer in the World Cup 2023 with 356 runs. Virat Kohli has slipped to third place in the current World Cup with 354 runs in 5 matches. Apart from this, Quinton de Kock is on top with 431 runs in 6 matches.

Pakistan’s bowlers dismissed the South African batsmen at regular intervals but brilliant innings by Markram, Jansen and Miller spoiled it and Pakistan eventually lost by 1 wicket.

Shaheen Shah Afridi took maximum 3 wickets for Pakistan. Apart from this, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Wasim Junior and Usama Mir took 2-2 wickets.
