Before Usama Mir, this unwanted record was recorded in the name of the team’s current fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi. He gave away 70 runs in his 10 overs spell against Australia in the World Cup 2019. However, Mir has left him behind after yesterday’s match.
He has become the first Pakistani bowler to concede the most runs while debuting for Pakistan in the World Cup. Mir bowled 9 overs against the Australian team yesterday. Meanwhile, he spent 82 runs.
In the match between Australia and Pakistan, Mir has been included in the team in place of vice-captain Shadab Khan. This is also his first match in the World Cup.
