MCA had said that the statue would be installed at Wankhede Stadium as a tribute to him

Speaking to ANI, sculptor Pramod Kamble said, “MCA had said that the statue will be installed at Wankhede Stadium as a tribute to him. The day after it was announced, I was called to work on it. Then I contacted (Sachin Tendulkar) and met him. We discussed how the statue should be made, and finalized the pose where he is hitting the six. We first made a miniature model and then voila, we made a 14-foot-tall statue. With a graphic combination of the world map and a cricket ball, we have created a globe and Sachin Tendulkar has been symbolically painted on top of it.”
