Shaheen Afridi Cried Bitterly in The Dugout After The Defeat To South Africa

ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Shaheen Afridi cried bitterly in the dugout over the defeat to South Africa. The 26th match of the World Cup 2023 was played between Pakistan and South Africa on 27 October in Chennai.

In this match, both the teams performed well, but the victory was in the favor of Africa. Pakistani players looked quite disappointed after the defeat in a close match.

Especially the team’s star fast bowler Shaheen Afridi. The 23-year-old fast bowler was seen crying while sitting in the dugout. Some videos of this period are going viral very fast on social media.

Shaheen Bowled Brilliantly Against Africa:–

Afridi’s performance against South Africa was excellent. He bowled a total of 10 overs for his team in this match.

Meanwhile, he managed to take a maximum of three wickets while spending 45 runs at an economy of 4.50. Shaheen’s victims included wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock, David Miller, and Gerald Coetzee.

Pakistan Had Scored 270 Runs:-

After winning the toss and batting first in Chennai, the Pakistan team was all out for 270 runs in 46.4 overs. Saud Shakeel and captain Babar Azam managed to score half-centuries for the team.

While batting at sixth position, Shakeel contributed 52 runs in 52 balls. While batting on the third order, Babar managed to score 50 runs in 65 runs. Apart from these two batsmen, Shadab Khan played an inning of 43 runs while batting in the lower order.

Africa Won By One Wicket:–

The African team achieved the target of 271 runs set by Pakistan at the loss of nine wickets with 16 balls remaining. Batting on the fourth order for the winning team, Aiden Markram scored a brilliant half-century of 91 runs in 93 balls.

At one time, the African team seemed to be losing in this match, but Keshav Maharaj, who came to bat in the ninth order, played a short but important inning of seven runs and returned only after giving victory to the team.
