In the picture that went viral, Temba Bavuma is seen sitting on a chair with the captains of other teams during the captain’s meet.

In this picture, Bavuma seems to be sleeping and until the South Africa captain himself gave clarification in this matter, everyone thought that he was sleeping.
Sharing this picture, England’s Burmese Army wrote, “Temba Bavuma fell asleep in the World Cup Captain’s Conference.” Temba Bavuma replied to this post, saying, “I blame the camera angle, I was not sleeping.”
Contrary to people’s expectations, the opening ceremony was not held in the World Cup 2023 and only Captain’s Day was organized with a photo session of the captains of 10 teams.
The World Cup 2023 is starting on October 5 with the clash between England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The South African team has entered the World Cup without its key fast bowlers Anrique Nortje and Sisanda Magala, who have been ruled out of the tournament due to injury. However, Temba Bavuma’s team has found its rhythm at the right time.
Last month, the South African team made a comeback after losing the first two ODIs against Australia and won the 5-match series 3-2 and won the last three matches by a margin of more than 100 runs.
South Africa will play its first World Cup match against Sri Lanka on October 7 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. New Zealand defeated South Africa by 7 runs through DLS method in the World Cup warm-up match.
New Zealand, playing first in the warm-up match played in Thiruvananthapuram. Scored 321/6 in 50 overs with the help of half-centuries from Devon Conway (78 runs in 73 balls). And Tom Latham (52 runs in 56 balls). Lungi Ngidi and Marco Janse took 3-3 wickets for South Africa.
Due to rain, South Africa got the target of 219 runs in 37 overs to win by DLS method. South Africa responded strongly but could only score 211/4 in 37 overs.
