Many former players congratulated Kohli on his achievement. But Sri Lankan captain Kusal Mendis’s feedback regarding Kohli’s memorable century has gone viral.

When Kusal Mendis was holding a press conference on Sunday before the World Cup match against Bangladesh to be held in Delhi on Monday, a reporter asked him if he would like to congratulate Kohli for his 49th ODI century.

On this Kusal Mendis said, ‘Why would I congratulate him?’ and started laughing. The video of his answer of Mendis has gone viral.

Kohli Becomes The Third Most Successful Batsman in World Cup History:-

Virat Kohli became the third-highest run scorer in ODI World Cup history by surpassing Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara, equaling Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most centuries in ODIs.

In 8 matches of the current World Cup, Virat has scored 542 runs at an average of 108.40, which includes 2 centuries and 4 half-centuries. His best score is 103*. He is the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament so far.

Virat has continued his excellent form in the ODI against South Africa. In the last 15 innings against South Africa in ODIs, Kohli has scored 1091 runs at an average of over 109, which includes 5 centuries and 5 half-centuries.

Kohli Has Scored 79 International Centuries:-

He is now just one century away from becoming the first player to score 50 ODI centuries.

This century of Virat is also the 79th century in international cricket. Virat has scored 49 centuries in ODI, 29 in Test, and one century in T20.

Virat’s record-equalling century came on the same ground where he scored his first international century against Sri Lanka in 2009.

This star batsman now has the second-highest number of centuries in International Cricket after Sachin Tendulkar’s 100 centuries.
