The co-hosts, USA, started the tournament with a BANG! They crushed Canada by a whopping 19 wickets in their first-ever T20 World Cup match. Talk about a statement!
Canada put up a decent score of 195, but the US chased it down in just 17.4 overs, scoring 197 runs!
American batsman Aaron Jones went berserk, scoring an unbeaten 94 runs off just 40 balls with a mind-blowing strike rate of 235. He smashed 4 boundaries and a whopping 10 sixes!
And let’s not forget Andries Gous, who chipped in with a cool 65 runs.
Scotland Gives England A Taste Of Their Own Medicine!
Meanwhile, Scotland gave the defending champions, England, a real run for their money. The match was eventually washed out due to rain, but in the 10 overs that were played, Scotland had England’s bowlers on their toes.
They Put Up A Brilliant Score Of 90 Runs Without Losing A Single Wicket!
Scotland’s batsmen George Munsey and Michael Jones played some cracking shots, scoring 41 and 45 runs respectively.
If the rain hadn’t stopped the game, Scotland might have actually pulled off a win against England!
