Veteran fast bowler Tim Southee will join New Zealand’s World Cup squad this weekend. He is making a fast recovery from the surgery for the fracture of his right thumb.

Tim Southee is fully fit for October 5
On 15 September, Southee broke his right thumb while fielding in the fourth ODI against England at Lord’s. He returned home and consulted experts, who recommended surgery. The 34-year-old is now expected to be fully fit for the Black Caps’ World Cup opener against England in Ahmedabad on October 5.
Kyle Jamieson included in the World Cup squad as a contingency
As a contingency, fast bowler Kyle Jamieson will also join the World Cup squad in India this week for training after the ongoing ODI series in Bangladesh.
