ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Australia in Trouble Even After Victory, Star Bowler’s Injury Raises Concern. Australia kicked off their T20 World Cup campaign with a bang, crushing Oman in their first match!

This win puts them on top of their group with 2 points, but things might not be all sunshine and rainbows for the Kangaroos. Their star fast bowler, Mitchell Starc, seems to have picked up a niggle during the game.

Uh Oh, Is Starc Injured?

While bowling his fourth over against Oman, Starc clutched his calf and grimaced in pain. He spoke to the physio and had to leave the field.

There’s no official word on how bad the injury is, but it’s definitely got the Aussies worried. Starc is their spearhead bowler, and losing him would be a massive blow.

Who Will Step Up For Australia?

With Starc potentially out, Australia’s bowling options are a bit thin. Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood are the other experienced fast bowlers, but they don’t quite have the same aggressive edge as Starc.

Young guns Jhye Richardson and Riley Meredith are also there, but they’re still relatively new to the international scene.

Spin To The Rescue?

If Starc can’t play, Australia might have to rethink their bowling strategy. Captain Aaron Finch might need to rely more on his spinners.

Can the Aussies overcome this hurdle and win the trophy?

That remains to be seen. Starc’s injury is a big setback, but Australia still has a bunch of talented players. If the others perform well and Starc recovers quickly, they could still be strong contenders for the title.
