Recently, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma expressed a positive stance on playing a series against Pakistan, and now the PCB has responded.
PCB Chief’s Response:–
PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi acknowledged Rohit Sharma’s statement and praised the Pakistan cricket team. He stated, “It would be great for both teams to play Test cricket abroad.” However, he added, “We will consider it if an opportunity arises in this regard.”

Naqvi further explained that their current focus is on hosting the Champions Trophy and ensuring India’s participation in the tournament. He highlighted their packed schedule and stated that there’s no time for a series before the Champions Trophy.
Rohit Sharma’s Statement:–
In a recent podcast with former England captain Michael Vaughan, Rohit Sharma expressed his desire to play against Pakistan. He acknowledged Pakistan’s strength as a team and the gap since their last Test match in 2007-08.
Sharma stated, “I would love to play against Pakistan. There’s always good competition between the two teams. We play against them in ICC tournaments, but I would love to play regularly.”
India vs Pakistan: ODI Head-to-Head
The two cricketing giants have faced each other in 135 ODI matches. India holds a slight edge with 57 wins, while Pakistan has emerged victorious 73 times. Five matches have ended without a result.

While the PCB has expressed openness to the idea of a series, their immediate focus is on the Champions Trophy. The possibility of a bilateral series hinges on the availability of dates and the willingness of both boards to agree on terms.
