Woakes shared his grief on social media, writing, “The last month has been the toughest of my life. Sadly, my dad passed away in early May.”
He emphasized the importance of being with his family during this difficult time.

Woakes said, “We’re all obviously grieving and trying to get through some of the hardest moments of our lives.”
This explains why Woakes hasn’t played for Warwickshire this season or the Punjab Kings in the IPL.
